Sloppy joe

Sloppy Joe (classic American sandwich) 🍔

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef (or minced meat)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2–3 garlic cloves (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1–2 tbsp tomato paste or tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Burger buns

How to make it

  1. Heat oil in a pan and cook onions until soft.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Stir in garlic (if using), ketchup, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer 5–10 minutes until thick and saucy.
  5. Spoon generously onto toasted buns.

Tips

  • Add bell peppers for extra flavor 🌶️
  • Make it spicier with chili flakes or hot sauce
  • Add cheese for a richer version 🧀
