Scabs behind your ears do not “definitely” mean one specific thing. They can happen for a lot of reasons, including:
- Dry skin or eczema
- Scratching from irritation or allergies
- Seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff-related skin irritation)
- A mild skin infection
- Psoriasis
- Reactions to hair products, earrings, headphones, or masks
If the area is painful, swollen, leaking fluid, spreading, or not healing after a couple of weeks, it’s a good idea to see a doctor or dermatologist.
