I put a laxative in my husband’s coffee before he left to see his mistress… but what happened next was worse than I imagined.

This is another clickbait cliffhanger that’s very common on social media and story websites.

It uses several hooks:

  • A shocking act of revenge (“I put a laxative in my husband’s coffee”).
  • Infidelity (“to see his mistress”).
  • A promise that the outcome is even more dramatic (“what happened next was worse than I imagined”).

The goal is to make readers click “See more.”

There’s no way to tell from the opening whether the story is true. Many posts like this are:

  • Fiction written for entertainment.
  • Highly exaggerated personal stories.
  • Engagement bait designed to generate clicks and advertising revenue.

If the scenario were real, secretly putting a laxative—or any substance—into someone else’s food or drink would be unsafe and could have serious health or legal consequences, depending on the circumstances.

So it’s best to treat this as an unverified internet story, not a factual account, unless it’s supported by credible evidence.
