🧾 Ingredients

For the beef

  • 500g (1 lb) flank steak, sirloin, or round steak, thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp cornstarch

For the stir-fry

  • 2 bell peppers (any colors), sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp oil

Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger (optional)
  • ½ tsp black pepper

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Marinate the beef

Mix sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let sit for 15–20 minutes.

2. Make the sauce

Whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, cornstarch, brown sugar, ginger, and black pepper.

3. Cook the beef

Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Stir-fry beef for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.

4. Cook vegetables

Add peppers and onions to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

5. Combine

Return beef to the pan. Pour in the sauce and stir until it thickens and coats everything evenly.

6. Serve

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
