I’m not kidding.
The idea that a Christmas cactus can be made to “bloom all year round” with a special liquid or ingredient is not how that plant works.
Your Christmas cactus blooms based on environmental cues, mainly:
- longer nights (darkness period)
- cooler temperatures
- a short resting phase with less watering
Not a one-time additive poured into the soil.
What does happen in viral posts is:
- the plant was already preparing to flower
- conditions were already right
- or it just happened to bloom soon after (so the “hack” gets the credit)
So if it sounds like I’m “ruining the magic,” it’s really just separating timing from cause-and-effect.
If you want, I can actually help you get it to bloom more reliably each year (that part is very doable).
