The most effective way to get rid of cockroaches in your home: they always come up through the pipes, but with this trick, it only takes a few seconds and they’ll never come back

That headline is almost certainly clickbait.

Cockroaches do sometimes travel through plumbing voids and around pipes, but they don’t always come up through the pipes, and there is no proven trick that makes them “never come back” in a few seconds.

The most effective long-term approach is:

  1. Identify where they’re entering (cracks, gaps around pipes, under doors, wall voids).
  2. Use gel baits in areas where roaches travel.
  3. Remove food and water sources (clean spills, store food, fix leaks).
  4. Seal gaps and cracks around plumbing and walls.
  5. Monitor and repeat treatment as needed.

If roaches are appearing around sinks or drains:

  • Keep drain traps filled with water.
  • Clean organic buildup from drains.
  • Seal gaps around the outside of pipes where they enter walls.

Be cautious of viral remedies involving mixing household chemicals. Some combinations can create toxic fumes or other hazards.

If you share the actual “trick” from the post, I can tell you whether it’s likely to work and whether it’s safe.
