1. Make mashed potatoes

  • Boil potatoes until soft
  • Mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper
  • Set aside

2. Cook the filling

  • Sauté onion, carrots, and garlic
  • Add minced meat and brown it
  • Stir in tomato paste, broth, peas, and seasoning
  • Simmer until slightly thickened

3. Assemble

  • Spread meat mixture in a baking dish
  • Top evenly with mashed potatoes
  • Smooth or fork the top for texture

4. Bake

  • Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes
  • Optional: broil 2–3 minutes for a golden top
