  • ¾ cup melted butter
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Cream layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (or whipped cream)

Raspberry layer

  • 1 package raspberry gelatin mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 package frozen raspberries (thawed) or fresh raspberries

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make pretzel crust

  • Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar.
  • Press into a 9×13-inch dish.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes.
  • Let cool completely.

2. Cream layer

  • Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  • Fold in whipped topping.
  • Spread over cooled crust (seal edges so gelatin won’t leak).

3. Raspberry layer

  • Dissolve Gelatin dessert in boiling water.
  • Stir in raspberries.
  • Let cool slightly, then pour over cream layer.

4. Chill

  • Refrigerate 4 hours or until fully set.

🍰 Tips

  • Make sure crust is fully cooled before adding cream layer
  • Seal cream layer to edges to prevent soggy crust
  • Chill long enough for clean slicing

🧠 Why it works

This dessert combines:

  • salty crunch (pretzels)
  • creamy cheesecake-like layer
  • sweet fruity gelatin topping

That contrast is what makes it so popular at gatherings and potlucks.

🧾 Bottom line

Raspberry pretzel salad is a nostalgic layered dessert that blends salty, creamy, and fruity textures into one chilled treat that’s easy to make ahead and serve cold.
