Fried Chicken Wings

🍗 Crispy Fried Chicken Wings

Golden, crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside—perfect for game day, parties, or a comfort-food dinner.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2 lbs) chicken wings
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Coating:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼–½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

For frying:

  • Vegetable or canola oil

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Marinate the wings

  • Mix wings with buttermilk, salt, and pepper.
  • Let sit for at least 30 minutes (or refrigerate for a few hours).

2. Prepare the coating

  • Combine flour, cornstarch, and seasonings in a large bowl.

3. Coat the wings

  • Remove wings from the marinade.
  • Dredge thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  • For extra crunch, dip back into the buttermilk and coat a second time.

4. Fry

  • Heat oil to 175°C (350°F).
  • Fry wings in batches for 8–12 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pot.

5. Drain

  • Place on a wire rack or paper towels for a few minutes before serving.
