Crock Pot Cube Steak

Cube steak in a crock pot is a super easy comfort-food dish where the meat becomes very tender and absorbs a rich, savory gravy.

🧂 Ingredients

  • 4–6 cube steaks
  • 1 packet onion soup mix (or 1 onion + seasoning)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or homemade gravy base)
  • 1 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 onion, sliced (optional but recommended)
  • 2–3 garlic cloves (optional)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp cornstarch (optional for thickening)

  • Lightly brown cube steaks in a pan for 1–2 minutes per side

2. Layer in crock pot

  • Place onions on bottom
  • Add cube steaks
  • Mix soup + broth + seasoning, then pour over

3. Cook

  • Low: 6–8 hours
  • High: 3–4 hours
    Until meat is very tender

4. Thicken gravy (optional)

  • Mix cornstarch with water
  • Stir in during last 20–30 minutes
