Chocolate chip cookie

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165 g) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 1/4 cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream butter and both sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

Tip: For thicker, chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30–60 minutes before baking.
